Oral history interview with William H. Hausdoerffer, 1986.

Hausdoerffer discusses his long association with Trenton State College, first as a student and then as a member of the faculty, his changing relationships with college administration as department chair, changes in the mathematics curriculum, the evolution of Mathematics Dept. and the college during his tenure, and the creation of a Master's program and a computer science program. Topics also include Hausdoerffer's work as Dean of Students, dorm life, student quality after the Korean War, his criteria for hiring new professors, his view of the importance of mathematics, and his work with the Alumni Executive Board. Hausdoerffer, Professor Emeritus of Mathematical Sciences, was born in 1913 and earned a B.S. from State Teachers College and State Normal School at Trenton (1936), an M.A. from Columbia University (1939), and an Ed.D. from Rutgers University (1950); taught at Trenton State College from 1940 to 1979 and was chair of Mathematics Department from 1955 to 1976.
